Serena Timms-Leeke - HR Consultant
Serena is an experienced and passionate People and Culture professional with over a decade of HR experience across both higher education and the private sector. With a strong foundation in human resource management and operational leadership, Serena has developed a reputation for delivering practical, people-first solutions that improve team performance, drive process improvement, and support organisational culture.
Serena is known for her ability to develop business-centric solutions using data-driven decision making, oversee a wide range of HR processes, and implement policy improvements that make a real impact. Her career has seen her successfully lead high-performing teams and guide senior leaders through strategic workforce planning, talent management, and organisational change initiatives.
Serena holds a Bachelor of Business from QUT with majors in Management and Human Resource Management, and has completed numerous industry-recognised training programs including AHRI certifications in Conflict Management, Influencing and Negotiation, and Workplace Relations. She is also trained in Mental Health First Aid and certified in Workplace Health and Safety and Fitness.
Over the years, Serena has led or contributed to a wide range of strategic projects, from systems design and talent platform configuration to workplace culture programs and policy reforms.

Matthew Timms - Director
With over a decade of experience across transport, insurance, finance, and operational leadership, I founded Hinterland Management Group to support businesses navigate workforce challenges with practical, data-driven solutions. From managing state-wide supplier networks to leading complex administrative and compliance operations, I’ve built a career on improving systems, strengthening relationships, and delivering real results.
My approach is grounded, efficient, and tailored, drawing on hands-on leadership roles, formal training in bookkeeping and accounting, and service optimisation. I’ve worked with major insurers, overseen high-pressure dispatch and call centre teams, and now apply that experience to support businesses with strategy, performance, and operational consulting.
I’m also proud to have spent over 10 years as a professional baseball player and currently serve as a Pitching Coach with the Brisbane Bandits—an experience that continues to shape my leadership style and commitment to performance.
